Hi all .. here's to 2025 being a great year. We have trained on 2 occasions at the eSport Arena and Thursdays from CityMarket which has seen us establishing a 2 week pattern that all can become familiar with.

So Tuesdays are at the indoor track . Thursday the staple hill session and Saturday and Sunday are 1 week the long run where we pushing to 18k . 22k and 25k for those who are ready. Week 2 we look to do a 6k tempo run the Saturday and 15 to 18k the Sunday

That is the framework and then training is provided according to each individuals current fitness and ability. For those who are not yet doing the long runs, don't panic, establish your routine and the consistency needed and everything will develop calmly and with time.

Our 1st group event is planned for April 26th

The intention is to run the Puolarmaari Parkrun as soon as that opens. This will replace the 6k tempo run which occurs every 2nd week on the program/framework

Here's hoping that this latest post helps in understanding what we are doing and hopefully the direction we are going.

ps.. only a few have mentioned their own individual plans, so please let us know what you would like to do and achieve

Hi all .. 2024 has been a rather decent year .. the training group has stabilised and training and the group spirit has been a wonderful motivating factor, long may it continue.

We have our last group run together on the 21st December and then we will have a week where we don't meet from the 24th December through to the New Year, with plans to meet for a run on Thursday the 2nd January 2025.

It is the usual off period planned and then the Christmas and New Year celebrations, during this time, the plan is to run every 2nd day till we meet up.

The idea is run 1hr or 15km every 2nd day .. 20 to 30 minutes is fine and it is up to each individual as to what they want to do but no runs over 15km as the intention is for each person to 'iron' out any problems they may have regarding little niggles and or an itchy throat for example. Use this period to realign, so if you want to get sick, plan it for this 'off-period' ;)

Have a wonderful festive season and thanks for all the great moments in 2024

Hi all, we are now approaching the last 2 months of the year where the weather changes to winter climes. We now switch to a 2 week cycle program with every 2nd week being a paced run or ParkRun. The structure will be Tuesday as the main quality session and Thursday still being a group training session. There has been a request to go to indoor training earlier this year and I shall leave this for Piia, TommyK and TommiP to arrange/discuss with the group. It will be on a Tuesday to accommodate those who can't make Thursdays. The framework shall be updated shortly.
This weekend Saturday has a ParkRun planned and therefore the weekend after will have the long run.
If there are individual requests of someone who wants to do an event in the next 2 months, please let me know and something will be prescribed accordingly. The NICE guys have 2 weeks to their event.
Piia will be switching to race the indoor track season for the first time.
During the winter months we can have fun and try new things while focusing on getting in the longer aerobic run. A treadmill will be needed for most aerobic runs when the weather becomes too slippery outside, so do start making those plans and chat to Piia about such matters.
All in all, it has been quite a year so far and we have much to look forward to going forward.

Hi all .. so we have passed the weekend of the Tallinn Marathon events on the 7th September 2024 and now proceed forward with our further development.

After Tallinn some athletes will experience more fatigue and even come down with a cold or more.

Where we are .. next week a few who didnt attend Tallinn will be looking to test themselves at the Espoorantaa events over 10 or 21km

Directly after this the training will consist of 3 x 1 hour runs over the next week. Planned as Tues . Thu . Sat. This is a short off-period including a little running. After the Saturday events on the 21st September, everyone can take a few days off .. to recharge and recover before starting with the 1hr on Tuesday

This is quite important and if you do want to do something, please send me a private message and we can discuss accordingly

After the easy week we will gear towards participation in a 10k on the 20th October 2024

So this should give everyone an idea as to where we are, what's happening and the direction we are moving in

Hi Group Members, this post serves the purpose of providing the training plans for the next 12 weeks with the aim to race the Tallinn Half Marathon on the 7th September 2024.

We will be breaking our training routine into 2 x 6 weeks with the first 6 weeks focusing on development of mainly the athlete 5k speed while also maintaining a decent long run

After the 1st 6 weeks we will re-assess matters and then plan accordingly towards Tallinn

This is the 1st post in a number of posts making you each aware of the plans and this serves as a framework, and as an individual we are able to change 'your' training accordingly

so onwards and forwards
